College students spend most of their time focusing on studying and grades, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have other needs. There may still be a need for a relationship and sex. If your sex life is nonexistent, but are trying to figure out how to get one, here are some things you can try.

You first need to meet some other people.  This may be a little intimidating if you are just starting college – it is a completely different atmosphere than high school. First you must decide what your wants and needs in terms of intimacy are. Are you just looking for a good time or would you like to have a relationship? If you are looking for a relationship, think about getting involved in activities that attract people that have the same interests as you. Usually there are a variety of school-sponsored on-campus events and programs that you can choose from.

If you are not ready or do not have the time to dedicate to a relationship, and just want some physical contact now and then, may want to target social events, both on and off campus. There is a good chance that there is a party somewhere near your college this weekend, or a bar nearby that caters to the college crowd. There are other students out there who are looking for the same thing, and they shouldn’t be too hard to find. You probably already know the importance of safe sex, but it is still worth mentioning. Never have unprotected sex, and remember that birth control pills and devices do not protect you from STDs. Don’t ruin the future are working so hard for get destroyed by STDs or pregnancy.

Be cautious, and keep your expectations in check. You may be looking for a relationship, but you new sex partner may just want a good time, and vice-versa. Enjoy yourself and be safe, but do not jump to conclusions regarding relationships. This can lead to trouble and heartbreak. College is more than good grades and starting your future. It is also about having a good time. You can still have your sexual needs met while getting the education you need for your future.
