Intercourse should feel great, but some people experience pain during it. Painful intercourse, in medical terms, is called dyspareunia, and manifests itself in different ways. It could be a burning sensation, a constant, sharp, searing type of pain, or sudden cramping. It could be external or internal, meaning in the pelvic region or abdomen.
